Minimum verified photo age is the amount of time between today and the earliest independently dated record found for a matching photograph.
Loose phrases like “how old is this photo” invite a false sense of precision. The term “minimum verified photo age” is deliberately narrower: it names exactly what has been checked (a matching photograph), exactly what the evidence is (an independently dated record), and exactly what kind of number results (a minimum, not an exact figure). Each of those three restrictions removes a claim the evidence cannot actually support.

A genuine, verified match creates an evidentiary lower bound: the photograph is at least that old, because independent evidence confirms a matching version existed by that date. That lower bound is real and useful — it rules out the photograph being newer than the record — even though it cannot rule out the photograph being considerably older.
The examples below are illustrative only, not results from any actual check.
Suppose a photograph on a villa listing today is found to match, pixel-for-pixel in visual comparison, a photograph captured in an archived snapshot of a different web page from four years ago. The minimum verified photo age is at least four years. The photograph could be older than that — the archive may simply not have captured it any earlier — but it cannot be newer than four years, because independent evidence places it at that date.
Suppose the same search finds no matching record anywhere in the sources checked. There is no minimum verified photo age to report, because there is no independent record to base one on. This is reported as “no dated record found”, not as evidence that the photograph is recent — the two are not equivalent, and treating them as equivalent overstates what the absence of a record actually shows.

Every other outcome — a file-stated date, an archived page or address reference without a matching photograph, an uncertain visual match, or no record at all — is shown separately and is never counted toward an age claim.
